SSH (Secure Shell)
SSH (or Secure Shell) is a network protocol to exchange data between devices (primarily used on Unix-like systems to remotely access an user account). In contrast to Telnet or FTP, all data (including passwords) are send encrypted.
SSH provides three important features:
- Authentication of the data receiver/remote station
- Encryption of the submitted data including credentials
- Data integrity (protection against spoofing)
