Dia
Dia is a GTK+ based, cross-platform Open Source diagram creation program. It helps you drawing entity relationship diagrams, UML diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and many others. It is also possible to add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files, using a subset of SVG to draw the shape.
Installation
Ubuntu
10.04 Lucid and above
Simply install the following package(s):
Alternatively (but not recommended), you can use:
dia
(universe) – provides Dia, too. But it comes without some additional GNOME Desktop integration.
After installation, you can start the program by clicking “Applications→Graphics→Dia Diagram Editor”. Or open a terminal and start it via dia
.
Windows
XP and above
Simply download the Windows installer1) and execute it with administrator privileges. Or use Dia portable, if you want to run Dia without installation.
