BleachBit
BleachBit is a clean-up, maintenance and privacy tool for different Linux platforms. It wipes/shreds unnecessary and temporary files to free disk space, maintain privacy and remove junk. It removes cache, Internet history, temporary files of many applications,1) cookies, broken shortcuts and vacuums Firefox databases (to improve performance without deleting data).
Even BleachBit is stable and reliable, make sure you know what you are doing. The program shows a complete preview before it deletes anything – check it carefully to prevent errors/data-loss caused by eventually broken clean-up modules!
Installation
Ubuntu
9.10 Karmic and above
Simply install the following package(s):
bleachbit
(universe)
After installation, you can start the program by clicking “Applications→System Tools→BleachBit”. Or open a terminal and start it via bleachbit
