Tips and tricks

Add additional dictionaries and/or language packages

Have a look at Mozilla's Dictionaries & Language Packs website.

The Quick Locale Switcher add-on is a nice tool to switch between different installed dictionaries and language packs.

Get less SSL/TLS warnings: import the CAcert.org root certificates

Many websites (especially Open Source related ones) are using CAcert.org signed certificates. If you don't want to get warned if such a certificate is used, import the CAcert root certificate:

  1. Visit the CAcert.org Root Certificate website
  2. Click on “Class 1 PKI Key→Root Certificate (PEM Format)”
  3. Tell Firefox that you trust this authority to identify websites
  4. Click on “Class 3 PKI Key→Root Certificate (PEM Format)”
  5. Tell Firefox that you trust this authority to identify websites
