Mozilla Firefox Add-ons
With Add-ons (sometimes also called extensions), it is possible to provide additional functionality to Firefox.
You should install only really necessary and well-known Add-ons because there is no standardized quality assurance for them.

Installation
Firefox Add-ons are getting installed via .xpi files. If your are browsing a website with Firefox and you are following a linked .xpi file, Firefox should ask you if you want to install the file.
To install an Add-on manually:
- Download the
.xpifile (use “Right Click\Save as…” to prevent triggering the common installation wizard) - Goto “File→Open File” (shortcut: Ctrl+O)
- Browse to the
.xpifile you downloaded and press Okay. - A “Software Installation” window will appear. Press the “Install now” button when it becomes enabled.
- Restart Firefox. You can delete the downloaded
.xpifile now.
